Weekly Activity Idea

Spring Scavenger Hunt

This week take your child on a scavenger hunt for items around the house or yard!  You can use the ideas listed here or you can create your own!  If your child can read the clues write them out on paper and let the read the clues as you hunt together.

As you find an item on your hunt, discuss the item with your child talking about what it looks like (color/shape/size), what it feels like, what you can do with the item, where it would be found or used, what group it belongs in.

If your child is working on articulation skills, chose items that have their target sounds in them and have them practice the name of the item, then have them create a sentence about the item.
